Is it absurd if I buy this tux for my dog?

I blame @terranaomi for posting this photo on her blog. I reallyreallyreally love this tux, but it was designed after Leo Dicaprio’s Oscars tux which means its price is totally jacked up. ($100 vs. around $30 for a similar outfit.)

Reasons:
1. No other dog tux looks this sleek.
2. Ignacio is an integral part of our wedding.
3. I would make him wear it on every one of his birthdays for the rest of his life. (At least 10 years I hope? 10 wears = $10 per wear)
4. At least I’m not making him wear a Rhett Butler costume (available on nearly every dog costume site).

Does this make me any less insane?

Meet Ignacio "Nacho Libre" McCabe-Cao

Meet our new son Ignacio, a baby chihuahua who needed a home.

He came to us as Nacho Libre, but we decided his formal name should be Ignacio and his nickname Nacho. He is not yet one year old, and he weighs a little under 8 lbs.

Nacho had a rough beginning: he was a stray in Kern County, on the outskirts of Bakersfield. One day, probably out of hunger, he killed a chicken, and animal control took him to the pound where he was placed on the kill list. (His papers say in bold, "Killed chicken.") Elle from the Strangest Angels organization rescued and nursed him back to health. She described his state when she picked him up as “emaciated,” with his ribs sticking out. He looks much better now, though he’s still skinny.

Despite his troubles, he is a cuddly little baby with the sweetest eyes. As we get to know him, his personality is coming out — he’s playing with us, asking for belly scratches, kissing our faces. He’s still a bit timid right now as he adjusts to our home, but since I already know he had enough spunk to take on a chicken, I’m sure he is going to be just fine.

I found him at http://strangestangels.org and fell in love with his face immediately, and as soon as I met him in person yesterday I knew he was the one we would take home. Nacho doesn’t really replace LeLu, as we will never be able to fill that void, but I’m glad that we are able to provide him with a good home, and he is a great addition to our family.

I can’t wait for everyone to meet him in person!

Sleepover with Ante

We borrowed Ante for the weekend. He's not really like a chihuahua at all, but he's a sweetheart who loves kisses. :)

Thanks Christopher and Andrea!

Beach field trip

We took LeLu on a field trip to Leo Carrillo Beach, now I'm spooning him on a huge uncomfortable rock as we watch the sunset. He is happy so I am happy.

LeLu's birthday party

I may be sick, but we still managed to have a little party for LeLu's birthday, especially since his grandma is in town to visit.

Sorry to @MissRFTC and @lemonodor, we forgot to invite you guys!!

LeLu is puzzled

He thinks I should cuddle him and go to sleep instead of looking at pictures of him on my BlackBerry.
