Beach House's lighting is amazing at the Music Box tonight -- it feels really well conceived for their show and fits the mood perfectly: bright and beautiful with a tinge of sadness.

I celebrated my 29th birthday on Saturday at the Hotel Cafe, where Tyler
Hilton played the first show of his residency. Tyler's labelmate and friend
Michelle Branch came onstage to sing Patty Griffin's "Long Ride Home" with
him -- I managed to snag a pretty good video of it:

I'm looking forward to new music from both of them.
