Cleve Jones was an inspiring force at the Manifest Equality gallery opening tonight. He’s gotten a lot of publicity as a gay rights activist since he was portrayed by Emile Hirsch in Milk, but few people know he also spent the early years of the AIDS pandemic working to help people infected by HIV/AIDS. Did you know that he conceived the AIDS Memorial Quilt? He spoke about that tonight.
